would wish to receive. Shipping is done on
Mondays and Tuesdays only, to ensure your plants do not sit in a hot warehouse
over a weekend. Our shipping charges are based on estimate of actual shipping charge, no handling fees are assessed.
Orders
over $150 ship free and bonus are included with all orders.
Quantities on some varieties of daylilies we offer for sale are limited.
We believe in being as sustainable and organic as possible.
We do not use any chemical fertilizers or insecticides on our farm. We definitely
believe the lack of chemicals and liberal use of compost on our farm result in
a much healthier and disease resistant plant than one that is dependent on quick
fix, petroleum based fertilizers and sprays. We rarely provide extra waterings,
prefering to be sure that our cultivars are hardy and will thrive under normal
garden settings. When watering is necessary, we water mainly from collected rain water and an artesian well.
Our current inventory of daylilies includes choice varieties from select breeders. We select only varieties that perform well in our gardens with excellent plant habit, vigorous growth, rebloom, and of course beautiful flowers on strong well branched scapes. Expect us to eliminate any varieties that do not live up to our standards and select others that do. We currently have 50 varieties we are evaluating for possible sale next year. Any that do not make the cut will be disposed of. We do not plan to offer thousands of varieties, instead choosing only the most excellent garden performers.
We have a fledgling hybridizing program.
We hope to subsidize, at least in part this
program through the sale of our daylilies. Our goals in hybridizing daylilies are
vigorous growth, lush foliage, large flower bloom with sturdy well branched
scapes and hardiness.
I want to make a very special thank you to my wonderful wife Diane. Without her support and persistence we would not be following our daylily dreams. She makes it all possible.
We want to make a special note to thank Paul Foster and Brian McKinlay at
Daylily Meadows and James Gossard at Heavenly gardens. Their willingness
to share their knowledge and their support are greatly appreciated.
